Aflac has collaborated with Iron Girl, the nation’s premier all-women’s event series, and the upcoming Aflac Iron Girl Atlanta Triathlon will take place this year at Lake Lanier Islands Resort on Sunday, June 29, 2008.  With 10 events nationwide, ranging from 5K and 10K run/walks to duathlons and triathlons, Aflac Iron Girl events empower women of all ages to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.

The Aflac Iron Girl Atlanta Triathlon at Lake Lanier will feature women of all ages and fitness levels. The course includes a 1/3 mile swim, 18-mile bike and 3-mile run.

The Aflac Iron Girl Event Series experience provides women with a competitive platform and unique event amenities, such as a post-race catered Breakfast Café, performance shirts sized 'just-for-women,' IPICO Sports timing, personalized race bibs, custom finisher medals, post-race giveaways and much more. This year marks the second anniversary of the Iron Girl Event in the Atlanta area.

Aflac will pay the race entry fee for participants who are cancer survivors. These amazing women will form part of Aflac’s Team Courage and receive a unique blue bib and gift in recognition of their determination and battle with cancer.
