Forsyth County is excited to be hosting the 2005 Dizzy Dean Six-Year-Old Baseball World Series this year at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Dizzy Dean Baseball is an organized youth baseball program for all youth, ages five to nineteen. The County is expecting 50+ teams to participate, which will begin with Opening Ceremonies at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Friday, July 15th. At Opening Ceremonies, players and coaches will be treated to live entertainment, complimentary meals and carnival-type games and events.
The teams will participate in "pool play," beginning July 16th and concluding on July 18th. Following "pool play," the top teams will advance to the Double Elimination Bracket competition. This will culminate with one team being declared the 2005 Dizzy Dean World Series Champion.
