Greetings from the Trout Hatchery...

The Georgia Wildlife Division will be stocking the Chattahoochee River at two locations next week and seeks volunteers...

The Georgia Wildlife Division will stock the Chattahoochee River at Whitewater Park in East Palisades on Monday, October 31 at 11:00, and Amicalola River at Georgia Highway 53 on November 1 at 10:30. Volunteers are very welcome and should bring weather appropriate clothing, a 5-gallon bucket and a strong back. Directions to DH Stocking Locations:

Amicalola is west of Dawsonville, Georgia, where the Amicalola River Crosses Georgia Highway 53. There is a driveway and parking on the east side. Those volunteering to stock should meet at the upper parking area closest to Georgia Highway 53.

Whitewater is just north of where I-75 crosses the Chattahoochee River. Access is from the Mt. Paran exit at I-75. From the exit, go east on Mt. Paran to Harris Trail. Take a left on Harris Trail to Whitewater Ck. Rd., then go left on Whitewater Ck. Rd. about 1/4 mile to the entrance. (If you arrive early, please ensure that there is room for the stocking truck.)

If you plan to help with either DH stocking, please e-mail Bill Couch by Friday, October 28th at bill_couch@dnr.state.ga.us.

Thank you, in advance, for your participation!
