Saturday Night Stabbing in Cherokee

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing Saturday night on Canton Sreet in Canton, Georgia.
Two women got into an altercation following an argument. The victim, Tava Murphy, 25 years old of Canton, received cuts on her ear, face, back and arm. She received 180 stitches at Northside Cherokee Hospital and is expected to recover. Taryn Watts, 34 years old of Canton, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Battery. Watts is being held in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
The incident is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office Violent Crime Division.
