Nearly two dozen students were injured Monday morning when a school bus overturned in Cherokee County.
The crash occurred about 8 a.m. on Hickory Flat Highway in the southern part of the county.
While one student was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, and another 20 students had been taken by ambulance to other hospitals, none of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening.
The bus was taking the students to Sequoyah High School and Dean Rusk Middle School.
The crash site was about two miles from the schools, which are adjacent to each other. The bus was several yards off the roadway on its left side, and the front end appeared to be damaged.
