Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Investigator Bob Post, who is responsible for the supervision of the county’s 139 sex offenders, has recently been appointed by the Georgia Sheriff’s Association to serve as the Region 3 Task Force representative. The state of Georgia Sex Offender Registration Task Force is divided into nine regions across the state. Region 3 includes 11 counties around metro-Atlanta and north Georgia.
As the Region 3 Task Force representative, Investigator Post will serve as a point of contact for registry questions and concerns within his region and will provide technical assistance to sheriffs’ offices as it pertains to the sex offender registry. Investigator Post will also be required to hold at least 3 meetings each year with personnel from each county assigned to the sex offender registry within Region 3.
Investigator Post is an 11 year veteran with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office and a graduate of the University of Florida.
