The 21st annual Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit’s “Christmas Joy/Shop with a Cop” program is underway. Last night Cherokee County Sheriffs deputies, reserve deputies, and explorers shopped with children and their families at the Wal-Mart on Bells Ferry Rd. in Acworth. Monday night the event took place at the Wal-Mart in Canton and tonight it will be held at the Wal-Mart on Highway 92 in Woodstock.
This year approximately 250 children will get to shop with local law enforcement officers. Over 100 deputies, reserve deputies, and explorers have been involved in the event. The $14,000.00 donated to the Cherokee County Reserve Unit this year to purchase gifts for the children came from local businesses in Cherokee County.
