Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit graduated from a Vehicle / Pedestrian / Bicycle Crash Reconstruction Course in Cartersville last week. The 40 hour training was hosted by The Institute of Police Technology (IPTM) which is located on the campus of the University of North Florida. Instructor Tony Becker traveled from Florida to provide regional training for members of Georgia law enforcement.
IPTM was established in 1980 to provide management, traffic and specialized training to municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement officers. The Institute has since become the largest police training center of its kind in the United States, annually training more than 14,000 officers from throughout the world.
