Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit are asking the public for assistance to identify suspects involved in identity fraud.
An investigation was initiated ten weeks ago when a Cherokee county resident discovered $3000.00 missing from their Suntrust account. What investigators discovered was an organized network of multiple persons across the metro-Atlanta area stealing identities, creating fake drivers licenses, and using counterfeit checks to purchase thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.
College Park P.D. detectives, working in conjunction with C.S.O. detectives, executed a search warrant at a home in Fulton County. Numerous fake I.D.'s were located at the home including one suspected to have been used in the Cherokee County fraud.
Anyone who recognizes any of the suspects in the photos is urged to contact the Cherokee County Criminal Investigation Division at 770-928-0239.
