Severe Weather Outbreak Possible Across Plains and East Coast

Published Oct 17, 2007

AccuWeather.com advises residents across the Midwest and East Coast to be on alert, as severe weather threatens to bring three days of damaging winds, hail, heavy bursts of rain and tornados.

AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist and Severe Weather Expert Henry Margusity predicts the severe weather outbreak will first impact the south Plains today. The storms will race northeast toward the Great Lakes Thursday, threatening major Midwest metropolitan areas of Chicago and Indianapolis. Continuing east Friday, the severe storms threaten regions in the Northeast with wind damage and hail.

The entire Eastern Seaboard will experience wet weather as AccuWeather.com predicts that showers and thunderstorms will impact the region. The storms will only provide temporary relief for the drought-stricken Southeast. However, the storms will have little impact on the drought situation in the long run.
