Published Oct 9, 2007

A Canton man tried his luck and won a whopping million dollar lottery prize. Hoa Dang, 31, won $1 million playing the Georgia Lottery instant game, Georgia's $500 Million Club.

Dang purchased his lucky ticket at Chevron, 2520 N. Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw, on his way home from work.

"I'm so happy," said Dang, who co-owns Mai's Spa in Canton. "I've been thinking a lot about my future."

Excited about his winnings, Dang shared that he has several business plans on his "to-do list."

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 850,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
