LOS ANGELES -- Marriage? What marriage? Renee Zellweger's four-month marriage to Kenny Chesney never existed -- at least in the eyes of the law.

"Extra" said their annulment has gone through. According to the court papers, Zellweger and Chesney "are declared to be single persons."

An annulment is a judicial declaration that a marriage never legally existed.

In California, an annulment may be granted when either party in the marriage is under 18, of unsound mind, bound to a previous marriage or if the consent to marry was obtained by fraud or force.

In court papers filed last September, Zellweger listed "fraud" as the reason she was seeking an annulment.

She later issued a public statement saying the term was "simply legal language and not a reflection of Kenny's character."

Meanwhile, Kenny Chesney said he'll be "able to have forever" the memory of recording a Christmas song with Alabama's Randy Owen. They recorded "Christmas in Dixie" for Chesney's CD "All I Want for Christmas Is a Real Good Tan." The East Tennessee native said he remembers hearing Alabama singing it on the radio every December, on his hometown radio station. So, Chesney said it was "an awesome feeling" to have Owen on the album.

Chesney is taking a break over the holidays, before beginning rehearsals for his 2006 tour.
