Officer Matt Starr, President of Forsyth County’s Fraternal Order of Police, announced today that the FOP will host a Chinese Cultural Exhibition at the Sawnee Cultural Arts Center next month.
The Exhibition, which includes traditional performances by Chinese acrobats, jugglers and ribbon dancers, will raise funds for the local Lanier Lodge #82 of the FOP.
Members of the An Fong Dance Company will travel across the globe to perform and give demonstrations of gravity-defying acrobatics, intricate juggling tricks and interpretive ribbon dances accompanied by traditional and modern Chinese music.
Performances will be given on Tuesday, November 23 at 6:00pm and 7:30pm and are appropriate for children and adults of all ages. To show its appreciation and gratitude, the FOP is offering free tickets to the performance to all families who make a charitable contribution.
“The Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers,” said Starr.
“We serve as the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. Our mission is to improve the working conditions for law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation,” Starr added.
