The G. Cecil Pruett Community Center Family YMCA celebrates YMCA Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 10:00am-1:00pm. This event celebrates healthy living, helps families embrace a more active lifestyle and showcases YMCA programs designed to “Put Play in Your Day.” Events will be held at the YMCA, are free and open to the public. It is part of YMCA Activate America, a national long-term initiative focused on developing and implementing community-based solutions to help all Americans improve their health and wellness.

With 9 million overweight U.S. children – more than double the figure reported in 1980 – increasing the levels of physical activity in the lives of our children is a critical component in reducing childhood obesity. The YMCA is a resource available to families who want to be more active.

The G. Cecil Pruett Community Center Family YMCA invites the community to join us on April 14 as we celebrate YMCA Healthy Kids Day and look forward to seeing everyone soon!

A charitable organization, the YMCA is an association of people who come together with the vision of building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. The YMCA is open to all regardless of age, race, religion, gender, or ability to pay. For more information about helping to make a difference in your community, please contact Nicole Lawson at 678-880-3501 or nicolel@ymcaatlanta.org
