In Russia and Kazakhstan, There Are Babies Just Waiting To Be Adopted

Scott and Anne Peterson brought their newly adopted son, Clayton, home from Kazakhstan in July of this year. He is the joy of their life and they cannot imagine their lives without him. There’s an empty nursery down at the end of the hall. Sometimes you catch yourself in it- daydreaming—you see a crib—a rocking chair—and a big stuffed teddy bear. And then you realize it’s just an empty room. In Russia and Kazakhstan, there are hundreds, if not thousands of babies, lined up in rows and rows of cribs, waiting for mommies and daddies to love them and take them home.

Scott and Anne Peterson longed for a baby to love and cherish. They started the adoption process nine months ago and came home on July 6, 2004 from Kazakhstan with their newly adopted son, Clayton, who was a week shy of his first birthday. Now Clayton is the joy of their life, and they cannot imagine their lives without him. Clayton’s adoptive parents boast about their very healthy, happy, smart, and social boy. He is the best baby. Clayton likes to laugh, play, be outside, and have books read to him. He is almost walking now and loves to eat Cheerios!

The Petersons say they were very impressed with the way things are set up in the orphanage and how smooth the adoption process went in Kazakhstan. They felt that the caretakers at the orphanage took good care of all the children, and want what is best for them. They found the people in Kazakhstan to be very supportive of adoption and were friendly and helpful to them. The Petersons had a great experience adopting Clayton through AAA PIA and are hoping to adopt another child in the future.
