WHAT:

Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC), the national youth volunteerism movement that has empowered more than 19,000 young people to get involved and help their communities, announced that recording artists Eve, Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Rich Boy are to perform at this year’s exclusive Atlanta BMRC concert hosted by Nick Cannon. The concert will celebrate with 3,000 hard-working local youth who have volunteered four hours of community service through BMRC to earn tickets to this ultra-exclusive event.

On Saturday, June 9, volunteers will come together to create a mural, depicting the principle of Umoja, meaning Unity in Swahili. The mural will be displayed at the Georgia Citizen’s Coalition on Hunger (GCCH) – an organization that was founded in 1974 in response to a Georgia conference that found thousands of Georgians experiencing serious conditions due to malnutrition and other nutrition related health problems. Through a number of programs, GCCH builds awareness about hunger related issues, offers emergency food, makes emergency shelter referrals, and provides organically grown food at their Community Outdoor Farmers Market to eligible families.

RockCorps, an organization harnessing the power of music to inspire volunteerism, and Boost Mobile, a wireless telecommunications brand dedicated to boosting the lives of today’s youth, continue their highly successful partnership for the third year in a row. BMRC exposes young people to simple and fun ways they can proactively contribute to their neighborhoods and positively transform society. Combining the power of music, community and volunteerism, Boost Mobile RockCorps will offer entrance to the year’s most popular concerts for which the only way in is to earn tickets by contributing four hours of volunteer service. The 2007 BMRC concert tour will conclude in New York City on October 6.
