The Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center dba ‘A friend’s House” is moving…The board, staff, volunteers, multidisciplinary team members, supported community members and their funding partners are pleased and excited about this next phase of growth. The development committee, headed by Board President Jerry Henderson, have purchased, with the wonderful support of Regions Bank, a home on Bettis Tribble Gap road in Cumming. The house will provide much needed space for the growing staff and programs that provide services to the most vulnerable of our community: ‘Our Children’.

“Owning our facility provides a sense of permanency to the community” says Michelle Edwards, Executive Director.

“It also makes better financial sense. Rent is costly and never a good investment of funds.”

“The new facility is in good condition and will allow us to move in without a break in service. However, the Advocacy Center is in need of community support in very specific ways.”

Carpet for the upstairs (approximately 1700 square feet)

Interior paint and Exterior paint

Privacy fence materials (An Eagle Scout Project will provide the construction)

Gravel or blacktop for the driveway

Privacy hedge for roadway

Inquires can be made to Victim Support Manager, Pat Plant @ 678.208.1908 or patplant_fccac@fdn.com

The center is a community solution to a community problem, and we believe that everyone in Forsyth County needs to feel a sense of accomplishment as they see the Child Advocacy Center grow. Organizations, churches, agencies, businesses and individuals all have provided support for the children that the center serves. On behalf of the children, a deep heart felt thanks goes out to all of you. It is the hope of the committee members and board that with this move and the few upgrades that are needed, we can create a place that will better serve children of abuse for many years to come.
