Ingles Customers Enjoy Flu Shot Convenience

Ingles Supermarkets and Ingles Pharmacies have been offering flu and pneumonia shot clinics throughout October at many of their stores. Ingles Dietitian, Leah McGrath, coordinates the clinic and reports, "Numbers for the clinics have been all over the map. At some of our clinics the Maxim nurses vaccinated over 300 people at others only a dozen. I think some of this was due to the unseasonably warm weather at the beginning of October. However, even at the clinics with smaller turnouts we've had a lot of positive feedback. Many people get their annual flu shot at Ingles!"
The flu clinics given at Ingles are run by Maxim Health Systems who supply nursing staff to administer the vaccinations. Flu shots are $30 ($27 with an Ingles Advantage Card) and pneumonia shots are $40. Individuals who have Medicare Part B as their primary insurance will not have a co-pay and many insurance plans also cover flu shots.
