Forsyth Central's Theatre Department Wins Competition

On Saturday, November 12th, the Forsyth Central High School Theatre Department won the State AAAA One-Act Play competition in Valdosta, Georgia with their production of All My Sons by Arthur Miller. Eight AAAA Schools from around the state each brought their Region winning productions to the Valdosta High School performing arts center to compete for the State Trophy.

Further honors were bestowed on this outstanding production when FCHS Junior Katie Barlow was named State AAAA Best Actress for her portrayal of Kate Keller. Other members of the cast were Alex Stage as Joe Keller, Hunter Daigle as Chris Keller, Ciara Montalbo as Ann Deever, Andrew Cheeves as George Deever, Joshua Styles as Dr. Jim Bayliss , Bailey Sessions as Sue Bayliss, Tyler Wilson as Frank Lubey and Laurel McCormick as Lydia Lubey.

All My Sons was directed by Yatesy Harvey. Jan Stage provided musical direction and Bob Upton was in charge of technical direction. Senior Rebecca Bullard served as student director. Stage Managers were Allyse Spaulding and Aaron Phillips

Under Yatesy Harvey's direction, the FCHS Theatre Department has brought home many honors to Forsyth County, winning thirteen Region and nine State One-Act Play Championships since 1991. FCHS Theatre Department Productions have numerous times been selected for presentation at the Georgia Thespian Conference and the International Thespian Conference at the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln.
