The “First Friday Night Concert Series” in Downtown Dahlonega announces another thrilling outdoor concert for Friday, August 1. The special event will feature the band “Fool’s Gold of Dahlonega.” This group cooks a simmering stew made up of traditional mountain music, blues, rock, gospel, and early country sounds. They have been a mainstay of Dahlonega area music for years.
Using acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, bass, harmonica, and lap-steel guitar, band members Joe Cronan, Mac McConnell, Dave Hancock, Kevin Woods and Chris Jones produce what can best be described as "mountain jazz," an uplifting blend of America's music. Fool's Gold will perform some of their original material, as well as performing classic songs with their own special twist.
The First Friday Night Concerts are held at the beautiful Conner House Lawn at the corner of North Chestatee and Warwick Streets. Mark your calendar now and make your plans to attend. Bring friends, family, and lawn chairs for family fun in downtown Dahlonega. All concerts are held from 6:30-8:30 pm. Arrive early, enjoy excellent downtown shopping, and pick up your picnic from any of downtown’s popular restaurants.
The First Friday Night Concert Series is produced by the City of Dahlonega’s Better Hometown Program and Downtown Development Authority with free admission for all.
