The Pet Basket To Host Pictures with Santa and Party for Labrador Friends of the South

Published Dec 6, 2007

Santa isn’t the only one making a list and checking it twice this year. True pet lovers are notorious for treating their favorite dog or cat like a human when it comes to gift buying for the holidays – and for many, the sky’s the limit, including visits with Santa Claus and keepsake pet portraits.

North Atlantans are fortunate that The Pet Basket can accommodate their needs as a one-stop shop for necessary pet supplies and also a destination for those who don’t yet have pets but would like to bring one home for Christmas. The Pet Basket has been instrumental in helping Labrador Friends of the South throughout the year, and they’re proud to host a Holiday Party and Reunion on behalf of Labrador Friends on Saturday, December 15, 2007, 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. at The Pet Basket boutique in neighboring Forsyth County.

The Holiday Party and Reunion welcomes both humans and pets, and event highlights include photos with Santa, dog training tips, micro chipping, dog games, food and gift vendors and a huge silent auction. Additionally, all Labrador Friends dogs will be available at the event for adoption into loving homes. The organization has dogs of all ages, colors and temperaments, and proceeds from the event will go back to rescue and adoption efforts through the non-profit.

In addition to fundraising festivities, The Pet Basket will have a full inventory of pet gifts and accessories available. Probably the number-one gift one can give a beloved pet this holiday season is a healthy diet. It’s startling to learn that not all dog and cat foods are made alike and that some can actually hinder a pet’s livelihood. The Pet Basket carries only food product that is healthful and not full of fillers. (Have you read the ingredients on your dog food bag lately?) Brands of quality dog and cat food you’ll find include Nature's Variety, Natural Balance, Eagle Pack, Canidae, Merrick, Solid Gold, Innova/Evo, Blue Buffalo and Wellness.

If your pet is in need of a collar, you’ll find an almost endless selection at The Pet Basket. College fans can find collars bearing logos of their favorite schools, and if your pet is fashion-forward, you’ll find some trendy collar designs in varying patterns and materials, too. Speaking of trendy, customers will also find food and water bowls that coordinate with their kitchen décor and wood cabinets, along with seasonal – and functional -- clothing for the dog that has everything.

Unless your best friend or furry feline sleeps at the foot of your bed, you might want to consider a cozy pet bed, especially with winter now upon us. The Pet Basket carries beds of varying sizes and styles for both dogs and cats – some that are even heated. If you’re looking for something impressive to give a friend’s pet, you might want to check out the spa products for dogs and cats. They are beautifully packaged much like human spa products and are practical and fuctional, too.

The Pet Basket is located in Mardi Gras Plaza in Forsyth County, 5155 Highway 9, Alpharetta, GA. For more information, please call (770) 456-5860 or visit www.thepetbasket.com. To learn more about Labrador Friends of the South, visit www.labradorfriends.com.
