Tracking Teen Driving: Revolutionary Technology Provides Peace of Mind for Parents

When teen auto accidents occur, the media focuses on the obvious causes – speeding, showing off, inexperience, drinking and driving, drag racing, succumbing to peer pressure, etc. However, there is an additional factor that is largely overlooked - that of immature judgment.

Recently, Time magazine reported on a significant new study of the adolescent brain. The report found that the section of the brain used for judgment and decision-making doesn't mature until age 25, while the quest for adventure maximizes during the teen years. Thus teenagers are behind the wheel nearly a decade before they are fully equipped to drive with necessary expertise. Greater parental control is required during these critical years, which may seem incredibly difficult, if not impossible.

Parental control is now possible, however, through a product called Millennium Plus, an ingenious new concept that combines GPS (Global Positioning System), internet, cell phone and satellite technologies. Upon request, it reports the speed and location of your teenager's car to your personal computer or your cell phone, 24/7. Literally around the clock, Millennium Plus will tell you:

· The car’s speed, direction and present location

· When a pre-set speed has been exceeded

· When an “electronic fence” has been violated

· The car's highest speed in the past 24 hours

· The path taken by the car over a period of time

When a teen realizes that the car may be monitored, he or she will more than likely drive with more restraint.

In addition, Millennium Plus also does the following upon command:

· Locks and unlocks the car doors remotely

· Disables and enables the starter

· Pinpoints the location of the car if disabled to assist repair or emergency personnel

· Displays a detailed map and satellite photograph of the car’s surroundings

· Recovers stolen cars much more efficiently – and at a lower cost -- than Lo-Jack

In a nutshell, Millennium Plus helps to reinforce good teenage driving habits while simultaneously relieving parents of much worry and anxiety. It can also save lives.
